Thanks to everyone that came out to see us at Bloomfield Little Italy Days on the 24th.

Triangle & Rhino will be heading to Michigan for shows w/BerT in Kalamazoo (Nov. 11th) and Lansing (Nov.12th) to celebrate the release of the "June Bug Bong Compass" split c16 with BerT on Madlantis and the "June Bug Magnetic North" split/collab CDr with BerT on 800 Wild! There will also be a release show here in PGH on the 13th of November.

Two disparate acts making some pretty intense and bizarre music. First side starts with Triangle & Rhino; a more traditional band with drums and instrumentation playing very untraditional sounds. Noise heavy free jams, strange alien beats and catchy and creepy little riffs that sorta worm their way into your brain. It's very weird but very enjoyable. I knew nothing of these guys before this but I will be on the lookout. The B side is RJ Myato's. It's a brutal HNW that is only interrupted by a strange service announcement that I think informs you that everything is about to be fucked. It's great. Nice simple packaging from 800 wild!

NEW LIVE RELEASE AVAILABLE ON NNNCO:

Triangle & Rhino "Anti Horse Cabal" CDr (NNNCO)

The "Anti Horse Cabal" was recorded live on the long running WRCT staple "It's A Live Show". With an expanded lineup including frequent collaborator Luke Farkas (202 and sax) and PGH harsh noise enthusiast and NNNCO brains RJ Myato (noise, guitar, vocals), Triangle & Rhino rip through equal parts composed works and driving blasts of dense improvised muck. The quartet does little at times to allow you to decipher between the two. Case in point, "Pink Pig" gets a rough handling. It's normal intricacies get slimed by static, sax punctuations, and an on the spot reworking. All thats left is POWER. The relentless pummeling lets up briefly for "You In The Green Coat". A quieter moment in the set where RJ Myato is left time and space to relate some witnessed absurdity. Even this piece leaves little to be comfortable with. "Anti Horse Cabal" is a grimy noise rock achievement with Triangle & Rhino giving a knowing nod to its past (Boda P'nodo, PGH warlocks, MOTL) and embracing a more chaotic future. - I. I. Hurlbutt
